From the 19th century onwards, over-utilisation of resources, oil exploration, destruction of forests and habitat for urbanisation, nuclear activities and other human activities has affected the environment, threatening the survival of many animals.
Our planet is currently experiencing crises such as global warming, acid rain, ozone depletion, ocean and soil erosion and land slides; all of which are sadly on the increase due to the actions of man. More people than ever are now beginning to realise the serious issues facing the environment and are prepared to fight for the rights of nature.
The volunteers at Wildreach have joined forces to engage in this important struggle while at the same time endeavouring to educate people about the need to protect and conserve nature. |
