Reptiles are known to be threatened in Sri Lanka. Mostly threatened are the snakes due to humans & snakes come into conflict because some may enter human habitats. A scary image is usually brought to humans when the word "snakes" is uttered. Most fear them a lot. But the truth is that they fear us more than we fear them. The appearance of a snake may be scary but most of them are harmless. People tend to kill them most of the time, even without a life threat.

We try to find ways to crate tolerance which some times mean relocating individual snakes from places of danger to safety. With our help snakes can be returned to the wild. And we continue to oppose the keeping of snakes by capture from the wild & their exploitation as diplomatic gifts.

Our charity working throughout the country is to stop individual wild animal suffering and protect threatened species in the wild. Our team www.srilankareptile.com is about not only giving knowledge but also helping in protecting our wild life.

We are now offering you a chance to help in this national duty of protecting reptiles, so you can also be a part of our conservation project & help to save many reptiles of Sri Lanka. We give you the opportunity for you to become a member giving special support to help save reptiles by helping us in our nature conservational work.

“The Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth”

“This is some thing we all know of. All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. Whatever befalls the Earth befalls the Sons and Daughters of the Earth. We did not weave The Web of Life; we are merely a strand in it. Whatever we do to the Web, will in return fall upon ourselves.”

We should always keep these things in mind, as sons & daughters of mother earth. But presently we find our selves lost in the material world running after money & never thinking or not a care in the world. Some times we don’t spot to think a moment on what’s going on around us.

More we become careless, more we bring disaster over mankind with out realizing. As we all know REPTILES are very much threatened in Sri Lanka in different ways. STOP & THINK FOR A MOMENT…… if we don’t act fast now & do something about it; we would never know what our future may hold for us or the future man kind.

It has become a very important thing to protect nature now than ever because some animals are becoming extinct from the world specially the animals which are endemic to Sri Lanka. We loose them now, we loose them forever.

Please contact us for more details www.srilankareptile.com if you are interested in joining in our field trips & conservational work.
