Wildlife Research
WildREACH Environmental Trust — conserving the extraordinary biodiversity of Sri Lanka since 2005. Research, rescue, education and community action for nature.
Est. 2005 — Battaramulla, Sri Lanka
Our lifetime dedication is to make it easy to go green — protecting and conserving Sri Lanka's wildlife and its habitats, particularly for endangered species. Sri Lanka ranks among the world's top 8 biodiversity hotspots, home to over 91 endemic bird species and thousands of unique flora and fauna found nowhere else on Earth.
WildREACH Environmental Trust leads, facilitates and encourages communities to conserve natural habitats, flora, fauna and biodiversity through research, rescue, education and direct action.
A global initiative to protect native flora, eliminate invasive exotic plants and restore natural landscapes island-wide.

Sri Lanka hosts over 245 butterfly species, 116 reptile species, and thousands of endemic plants. WildREACH documents and protects them all.

Over 116 species inhabit Sri Lanka's wet and dry zones, with nearly half being endemic. WildREACH documents population trends, habitat needs and threats to these extraordinary creatures.

About Us
WildREACH Environmental Trust is a passionate group of activists dedicated to studying and conserving the natural environment and wildlife of Sri Lanka. Founded in 2005, we have operated successfully for nearly two decades with significant achievements in research, rescue and community outreach.
Nature lovers work across the island for this non-profit organisation, focusing on flora, fauna, biodiversity, natural habitats and environmental education. Every initiative we run is driven by one belief: nature must be saved for future generations.
Entirely volunteer-driven. 100% of support goes to conservation work on the ground.
All activities are guided by expert academic consultants and published research data.
We educate, train and empower local communities to be stewards of their own environment.
Active from Yala to Wilpattu, Sinharaja to Horton Plains — every habitat matters to us.
